Adam Stoker is a doctoral candidate at Alliant International University. He earned his MA in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology as well as a MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.
His research and clinical interests lie in providing affirming care to sexual and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) youth, with a particular interest in helping those families where there is conflict between sexuality/gender diversity and religion. He also has experience working with substance use disorders, children with behavioral disturbances in residential treatment, and children with autism and other diagnoses in outpatient and in-home settings. He integrates CBT and Psychodynamic interventions in his clinical work to help clients learn to manage their symptoms while simultaneously working collaboratively to discover underlying causes.
