Dr. Therese Moriarty is a neuropsychologist who specializes in individuals who struggle with mood disorders, anxiety, ASD, PTSD, and impulse control disorders utilizing a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure response prevention (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Dr. Moriarty received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Southern California. Following graduation, Dr. Moriarty worked in research, most notably in “The Study of Women” a nationwide study that followed women for two years of their lives. She later earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. While in Boston, Dr. Moriarty worked on the Harvard-McLean Children’s Hospital on the inpatient unit, specializing with children with severe mood disorders and PTSD. Dr. Moriarty went on to earn her doctorate from Pepperdine University.
Dr. Moriarty completed her postdoctorate training at UCLA-Semel Institute and the Sports Concussion Institute, where she conducted neuropsychological evaluations to evaluate learning differences, developmental delays, neurocognitive disorders, head injuries, and evaluations which were conducted for diagnostic clarification. Dr. Moriarty specialized with individuals with ASD in private practice as well as at Sober College, a treatment facility for young adults with addiction tendencies - especially video game addictions.
Dr. Moriarty continues to conduct neuropsychological evaluations as well as individual therapy sessions. Her primary focus is children, adolescents, and young adults.
