Our mission is to educate children and families on anxiety and related conditions. We empower individuals and families by providing education and tangible skills within a strength-based model. We believe that children with anxiety are most successful when they are taught to channel their unique ways of thinking into positive and creative outlets.
Our methods are based in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is recognized as the foremost evidenced-based approach in treating anxiety. Thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected and change in one will lead to change in the others, resulting in lasting symptom reduction. Our treatment is specifically tailored to the child and family's individual needs while incorporating proven anxiety reduction tools in a gentle and playful manner.
Our philosophy is based on a powerful experience I had while playing in the ocean with my two-year-old daughter; We see a giant wave heading towards us and confronted with the decision to run from the wave or swim under it, we decide we are too frightened to face it. We turn and struggle towards the shore but in our panicked retreat, we are both dragged underwater by the ocean’s current. I grab hold of my daughter's tiny body with all my might. Miraculously, we emerge shaken and relatively unharmed.
Then a profound realization rushes over me...
Waves, like emotions, are constantly flowing. If we run from them, sooner or later they will come crashing down upon us. But if we face them head on, and dive beneath the surface of our impending problems, we inevitably come out more knowledgable on the other side.
Waves can teach us, and especially our children, a lesson that will help us grow and navigate the oceans and ever-changing tides of our lives.

The bio-psycho-social theory of health and well-being is the gold standard of holistic care. This model emphasizes the connection between the mind and the body.
