CHILD ANXIETY REDUCTION EXPERTS
Vicky Nguyen, M.A. is a third-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a
specialization in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. Vicky has received clinical training in both community mental health and inpatient psychiatric settings. Most recently, she completed a practicum at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, where she provided individual therapy, conducted intake assessments, co-facilitated psychotherapy groups, and supported clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. She previously trained in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, facilitating therapeutic groups and supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, substance use concerns, and psychiatric crises.
In addition to her clinical work, Vicky has experience working with children and adolescents through
educational and community-based settings. Her background includes supporting youth in academic
environments and participating in research focused on child development and social cognition. These
experiences have strengthened her understanding of the unique emotional, behavioral, and
developmental needs of children and teens.
Vicky is passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigate challenges related to anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, identity development, and life transitions. She approaches therapy from a collaborative and strengths-based perspective, drawing from evidence-based practices while tailoring treatment to each client's individual needs. Vicky strives to create a warm, supportive, and engaging environment where clients feel understood, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the skills needed to reach their goals. Supervision is provided by Dr. Erin Cantwell, Ph.D.
