CHILD ANXIETY REDUCTION EXPERTS
Zareen Shields is a first-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology where she participated in faculty directed research focused on improving children's cognitive reflection skills. She brings a strong foundation in child development and evidence-based interventions to her clinical work.
Zareen has extensive experience working in applied behavior analysis (ABA), providing culturally
responsive services to children and families across Los Angeles. She has worked with neurodivergent
children in home settings, preschool classrooms and social skills groups, helping them strengthen
social, communication, and daily living skills while supporting positive behavior change. Through this
work, she has developed a collaborative, family-centered approach that recognizes the unique strengths and needs of every child.
Zareen is passionate about helping children and families build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop practical skills to navigate everyday challenges. At CARE-LA, she co-leads social skills
groups while continuing to expand her clinical training. She is committed to creating a warm,
supportive environment where children and families feel understood, empowered, and equipped to
reach their goals. Supervision is provided by Dr. Erin Cantwell, PhD.
